Peter Berndtson Collection, 1942-1986, 1946-1971.

Sketches, renderings, working drawings, blueprints, specifications, contracts, correspondence, and photographs document nearly 100 projects, especially houses. This collection of records is especially complete and illustrates all aspects of an architectural practice. The collection is comprised of Berndtson's office records, augmented with materials from a 1971 exhibit at the University of Pittsburgh's University Art Gallery, and materials from the preparation of Miller and Sheon's monograph of 1980.

Peter Berndtson was a Wrightian designer who maintained a largely domestic practice in the Pittsburgh area between 1947 and 1972. Berndtson was studying at Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin Fellowship in Wisconsin, when he met and married Cornelia Brierly, a fellow student, who had formerly studied at Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh.
